Our office is open to serve you Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm.
Our inspectors are in the office for your questions weekday mornings between 8am and 9am, so if you have code questions or if you need a more specific time for your inspection (Note that this is only available on the DAY OF your inspection) please give us a call!
You can also pick up applications for building, electrical, mechanical and plumbing permits as well as zoning, sign or fence permits (where applicable) at our office, or you can print them from this site (look under Documents)
You can schedule inspections for all of our communities except Crockery by coming into the office, or calling us at (616)863-9294. Please note we cannot take email inspection requests.

Building Code and Zoning Enforcement
We assist contractors, business owners, and homeowners in the construction process by
processing and issuing permits;
performing building, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing inspections;
writing commercial plan reviews; and
providing zoning administration for select communities.
Our jurisdictions fall under several West Michigan communities in Kent, Ottawa, Montcalm and Muskegon Counties.
